Sorry Jay, no info on that subject. Seems every state differs some. My wife is from Rutland, but didn't even have a license when she left so I'm sure she has no knowledge. hopefully you can find a Vermont DMV site online. Let us know how that turns out, the wife keeps asking me to move back there but I'm just not a snow guy (BRRRR). She'd be happy to hear that there is at least one plus in her favor. California DMV is harsh to the extreme. Oh, and WELCOME to the forum.

Welcome aboard Jay..I am a state Insp here in pa..your car being a 77 now with side exhaust..may or may not be an issue..here 76 and down do not get any emissions test..VT may or may not include your year..I think a catalyst may have been in the exhaust in a 77 but don't quote me on that..I always say to people that have cars that are in these close to emissions test year is just act stupid..most kids wouldn't even know what your car even is that would inspect it..

thanks everyone i think ill just go for it and see what happens, will put some pictures of the car when im done this spring, any info on how to determine the paint code would be great,I want to find out what yellow it is
In Maryland, if you register it as Historic (20 years old or older) you have no safety OR emissions inspections. Besides, the tags and insurance are cheap! Good luck on getting it where you want it.
