id like to thank everyone for the welcoming me, i'll tell everyone a bit about myself. my name is Alexandre my 26 years old i'm currently serving with the US Army in Afghanistan. growing up i've always loved the c3 generation of the corvette and now that al of my my bills are paid off it's time that i pursue my dream, in buying one of these wonderful automobiles, however that are a few questions that i'd like to get myself educated on before i start shopping
1 where is there a good place to buy (online)?
2 what do i look for when i'm buying the car the frame engine any other weak points that a c3 owner would know?
3 where is there a good website for parts?
thank you
Alexandre 101 ABN

Welcome Alexandre. First, thanks for your service!
I agree with Jimmy, you'll probably get more responses if you repost in another section, but I'll throw a quick $.02 in here:
Where to buy? First, figure out what you want. To do this, I'll make a suggestion off question #2 - Get Richard Prince's C3 Corvette Buyer's Guide. You can find this at Amazon (ads sometimes posted here) or maybe even your local library once you get back. The book gives you all kinds of things to look for and will also help you see the different styles of the cars. There were 15 years of the C3, so there are lots of differences you may like or dislike. Convertible or Coupe? Chrome or rubber bumper?
You can get yourself into trouble jumping in to a car too fast, so figure out what you want, then speak to people here as you narrow down your selection of actual cars. We'll all love to help! My signature line came from finding my car - "It's not the kill, it's the thrill of the chase!"
Have fun and hope you're back home soon
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
