I'd like to make a formal thread introducing the car in an area of the forum where people actually look...judging by page views this area isn't one of them. At anyrate, i'll do it anyways.

I want to get a few things straight. You seriously CHARGE for this forum? Or is it for club membership? Either way....seriously?

back to the car

This is a 1968 convertible that i've built with my father and brother over the past 10 years.

Engine: Sallee Chevrolet ZZ450: 383 stroker with edelbrock heads, Accel DFI, 452HP/458torque

Transmission: Tremec 5

Exhaust: Hooker super comp headers with modified 1969 sidepipes

Suspension: Full BBP kit with Bilsteins

Brakes: Currently SSBC Calipers that we HATE and will soon be upgrading to either baers or willwoods, probably 6 pot beasts. Full stainless lines already obviously

Interior: Shrunken trans tunnel around new tranny, full custom aluminum dash and center console leather wrapped. Custom door panels. Corbeau A4 seats. Full 5 point race harnesses.

Paint: Custom paint by Flash's Automotive in Spokane Wa based on Kawasaki blue.

Other: H4 headlight conversion,  full vacuum system strip and mechanization, Custom fuel pump/filter rail. Fob security/start system. LED tail/marker lights.

and much, much more. I pretty much deem it a superbuild.

okay okay, pictures! Don't mind the dusty interior

Oh yeah, we have an original hardtop as well

god this is such a PIA to post pictures....could this forum be more complicated? Man I miss a simple Vbull.

Welcome to the forum, now we have two places to chat.

There was lots of discussion about whether to charge or not. One of the main reasons to charge is to keep out those that are not into the hobby and only want to stir the pot. It also ensures that Adam has the funds to keep the site going. The members here are very helpful, there is no such thing as a dumb question and if you ask a question with out first searching it out, you won't get put down. I don't think I could buy much for the Corvette with $15 so the fee was no big deal.

What I found works for picture posting is to use photobucket and past the link into the post. I use that for PNWriders too.

Is the owner of Flashes Body shop part of your vette club? I had the opportunity to tour is collection. He has some really nice vettes tucked away.
Thanks for signing upWink

Wait, so the generic   works here? Thought I tried it...hmm lets try again

Ah okay it does work after all. My problem was the forum was auto shortening my URL to a link instead of leaving it long for the IMG code...got it figured out now. Thanks!

We're actually not part of the Spokane Vette Club yet....just kinda parked with them in a "oh look a line of corvettes, lets park there" sort of way. We'll be joining shortly though...didn't even know they existed before the show.

I don't believe Flash is part of the club. But you're right...that man knows his corvettes, his collection is very, very nice. I wouldn't trust anyone else for body work on a vette around here.

Your reasoning behind charging makes sense now...I guess it does weed out the bad apples.

Currently the only thing left to figure out on the car is the brakes....we had SSBP Calipers but managed to bust out the sidewall at the bleeder valve. IT was a HORRIBLY designed caliper...very very thin at the bleeder valve. We were using the SSBP pressure gauge with their adaptor...turns out their adaptor wasn't long enough and in tightening it, it hit the inside edge of the caliper and just levered straight through the outside wall of the bleeder valve.

Currently the debate is between Baer and Willwoods.

OH MY ! What can you say, Fabulous. I love customs. Welcome to the forum Andrew, and yes, you're correct in assuming that there are more commonly viewed forum categories. Some of us just try to insure that everyone stopping by is recognized and made to feel welcome. If you have the time, please do re post so that others can enjoy your creation. Thanks Andrew.
