Thank you for the warm welcome guys. A little background of me and my Corvette. I am a 27 year old agricultural construction worker. Im from Bettendorf Iowa born and raised, though I have lived just about everywhere in this country I have returned home for good. I have a wonderful family with 2 young boys and a wife that ignores the time I spend in my garage.
My Corvette has quite the back story as well. In 1979 my father purchased the 1979 Coupe used with roughly 2000 miles on her. The first owner had a child on the way and had to say goodbye to his basically brand new car. He gave the Corvette to my mother as a wedding gift. What a gift! In 1982 my mother was driving on the highway and was cut off by a semi, while avoiding certain death she buried the nose of the car into a ditch, causing the vehicle to flip end over end 6 times. While miraculously my parents were unharmed minus a few cuts and bruises the vehicle was destroyed.
My father loved that car so much he had it repaired. frame up restoration was begun and she came out a new girl.
She was my first car at age 16 but not for long as it was quickly removed from my posession. fast forward to last year when I received it back again from storage and the occassional drive by my father to in his words, "Keep 'er pistons pumpin'. She was in bad shape. The paint was spider webbed up real bad, and the Red interior was orange from fade and age. I had her repainted in her original silver and this summer I am holding up the interior to allow for some drive time finally after 10 years away.
Well thats my story, I will post up some pictures tomorrow of the good, bad, and ugly when I can get her shined up. Thanks for reading

Welcome, Andrew! It's really neat to keep a car in the family like that! You'll find that this is the best site on the net for C3 info and talk! Enjoy!
