I heard about this 73 Corvette convertible sitting in a friends uncles garage/barn...I was just it was a project car. So on Sat I went to see it...
It's an 350 auto in mid blue with a white top and blue interior, with two owners from new, but the second owner only put the title in his name as he bought it as a project back in 2009. From the VIN details it loks like the 286th car built in 1973.
The original owner drove into his house with the car when he was drunk…the hood was all fine, but the front clip and grill was smashed up, no damage to the frame though….all the door jams look good and with the doors closed.
The current owner bought a second hand front clip, it's not perfect as it has a crack on the passenger side and the tip of the drivers side end has broken off…but it is all complete. He has been collecting all the parts he thought he would need as he wanted to do a ground up rebuild.
I had a look under the car as he had it on a lift which was great...the only rust I could see was on either side in a corner/triangle shaped part of the chassis…and a small area on the front of the car .
It only has 53677 miles on the car, he said that although the battery is dead it does start up and runs, no smoke…but the passenger front brake cylinder is leaking, the rear end is leaking a little too.

I'm looking forward to sorting out the front of the car...Hopefully I can post some photos here too.
Cheers
Peter

Looks like a nice project. Got any idea on how long you plan to take to get it on the road. I only ask as I figured it would take me Two years to get mine completed and painted and that was only because I traveled 65% to 75% of the time.
That was also about 5 years ago and I have been retired for 6 months and it still is not ready for painting.
Also you may want to lower the resolution on your pictures a little. Anyway you will find lots of knowledge on this forum site.
Good guys all of us. No such thing as a dumb questions on this forum. Respect and good will are all over the place.
