Trailing arm retaining bolts are usually seized from all the miles and exposure to the elements. Most of us that have removed them have used a saws all with extra long carbide blades. Did mine that way. 

As a suggestion, If you're going to go through the trouble to pull them out, have them rebuilt with new bearings and ebrakes. No need to pull the rear suspension apart twice.

If you're not concerned about numbers matching and like that and are refering to the rear suspension, the popular choice is an upgrade to the composit spring. For the front suspension you can upgrade to eliminate the coil springs and replace with a single transverse mounted composit spring (just like the rear) like the newer vettes use but with full height and stiffness adjustments. And don't forget about rack and pinion steering if you really like to put the miles on it. I ,for one , have done all those changes and love it.
