Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
Welcome Bobby
I've been through Globe once.
Tell us something about your car. How did you come to own it? What are your plans for it?
Hi, and thanks to all for the warm welcomes. I've never been a member of a forum like this before so it will take some getting used to. As a kid in high school I saw my first Vette in a popular mechanics mag, fellin love and wanted one ever since. Fast forward some 40 years or so; I was sittin in a local bar havin a brew with some friends and one of my retired friend told me he was moving to Florida and didn't want to take his Vette and if I knew anyone interested, well yeah! Anyway price was right and I had the means soo... It's a 1981. It doesn't have the stingray emblems so I'm assuming that it's not one??? Numbers are matching tho, rebuilt 350, trashed interior and old suspension but I love it and I can't wait til it's all done. Pics to come. Again, thanks for the welcomes.

Good to have you on board. My interior was trashed also 81 and 80 are mostly the same. Make sure that you post what you want to do before you start it will save you a lot of issues. I did not always do that and it caused some issues and delays.

First thing you will want to do is purchase the GM service manual for an 81 Corvette.
like this one
http://www.ebay.com/itm/81-1981-CHEVROLET-CORVETTE-GM-FACTORY-REPAIR-SERVICE-MANUAL-/330745059387?pt=Motors_Manuals_Literature&hash=item4d01f1183b&vxp=mtr
Most if not all the one for groups of years do not give you the specific information that you will need.
I notice the web address did not show as a link so just copy and past it should work or go to ebay and type in 81 corvette GM manual. Which is how I fount it.

The last year that had the Stingray emblem was 1976.
