Welcome David

Another TX car.

Tell us a little more about your car.  How you came to own it?  What are your plans for it?

Thanks everyone for the welcome.i just got my 74 on 2/2/14 .its in bad shape. It's a failed project by several people . It has some kind of wide body kit with a one peice frontend. The interior is just about gutted out but the dash is all there.it has a ss396 engine with 4 speed trany headers into side pipes it does run good . I am going to try to finish building it . It's will take a lot of time and money but what else is there to do .thanks again . I know I will need a lot of tech help glad you guys will be there to help:

Your first purchase needs to be the GM shop manual for your car.  Do not waste your time on any other books.  You need the manual for that year corvette.  The next thing I would get would be the assembly manual they are normally cheap.

A few car years require two manuals one for the previous year I do not know about yours but you can get a 1974 manual for less than $40.  Just search on "1974 corvette GM shop manual".

If you like pdf versions they can also be found on the net.  You came to the best place to get information on C3's that is for sure.

Just a hint when asking questions use a separate post for each different question.  As asking a question about the body and then the electrical system in the same post may not get you the guy you really want to talk to about the electrical system.

Good luck hope you have deep pockets.  Can you say "money pit" all C3 are you know.
