guys just got my first project vete on saturday was hoping to learn A LITTLE more ABOUT MY CAR FROM THE VIN THAN I DID.. looks like it was born in st louis and other than that thats all i know.. any pointers on how to find out more from the vin #?
Go up to the top of the page and find the blue tabs. Click on tools, then drop down to VID decoder. That will help.

There is lots of help here. The vin will not tell you much on a '71 other than year, coupe/convertible, and consecutive serial #. The Engine stamp pad will give a little more info, if it is the orig. engine. If you can get the nums off of the pad, we can help decode them!
