Recently my wife's father died. He left her his black 1982 Corvette. He was the original owner, odometer reads 51,250 miles. We have the original title. It has not been driven for 25 years. It has a 2000 tag on the license plate. It has been sitting in a garage in Indianapolis for 25 years. 

It is covered in dust, some mold on the leather seats. It is not functioning mechanically. There is a small amount of damage to the bodywork - two small cracks on the one of the rear wheel - each about 3 inches long. We have two sets of keys. The drivers side door is stuck and doesn’t open. When I put ignition key in the ignition lock it turned smoothly but I cannot remove the key.

Unfortunately, we are not able to keep the car and want to sell it once probate is complete.

We are seeking knowledgable advice:

If we were to sell the car as is, what would be the best way to do so?

If we were to have it restored to its former glory who would be best to carry out the work? What would be the best way to sell the restored car?

Is it worth the expense to have the car restored? 

Neither my wife nor I are knowledgable about cars in general.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Wow! That's quite the mess. I would say that if you have no interest in owning and driving it, just sell it as is. Restoration can be very expensive and if you aren't going to enjoy it when it's done, it certainly won't be worth the investment. 

You could look on eBay, auto trader and other sites to see what similar Vettes are going for to set your price. Definitely set it a little high, because people will want to bargain with you.
