Thank you very much for welcoming me into your forum. I apologize if my American is not very good, but luckily there are online translators. I am Italian and finally, almost at the age of 50, I managed to buy a Corvette which for us in Italy represents an American icon par excellence. However, the purchase I made was not very wise, I let my heart carry me more than my head. Here, the C3s that exist are very few and have very high prices (compared to the Italian salary), and the one I bought was the cheapest (22,000 dollars). However, when I saw it the car seemed ok, the owner started it on the first try and told me that he used it regularly. finally after buying it and looking at it carefully it went from a dream to a nightmare. The car is completely rusty, the bumpers were attached with electrician's clamps etc. But don't worry, I'll calmly bring it back to the state it deserves, it will be saved from the landfill. Thanks again.

Thanks for your help Adam. I actually did a search on the internet using the car's vin and it appeared here on your register (I discovered you through that search), I wanted to know what state the car was in when it was brought to Italy for understand if the "damage" they did was done in America or here in Italy, but apart from the color (which does not correspond to the original one nor to the current one I have not found anything else). Currently I have almost dismantled the machine all because I want to do a complete restoration, since I will then want to keep it for a long time. I will certainly rely on you to get some information on how it was in the beginning, because even in the assembly manual some parts are not shown. I'm taking care of it personally about the car because even though I'm not a car mechanic, but I repair industrial compressors so I know how to use my hands a little. I'll post some photos of what the newly purchased car looked like and how it is now.

Buongiorno Danilo

Wow, you have taken on a real project there!  I hope that you can bring the car back to life!

I live in Fran ce now (I'm English), so I am aware of how different things are over here from in the US - parts supply is sooo much harder.  But I do have an address or two that may  be helpful, if you need them later on.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.

Good morning to you too and thanks for the support. You're right, finding the parts here is always difficult and very expensive. Luckily I travel a lot for work and I go to the United States at least 2/3 times a year, and when I come back I always bring another suitcase of spare parts only๐Ÿ˜…. I am currently purchasing on Rockauto and Corvette central, but if you have any other address I will gladly accept it. Thanks again for your help.

Hi

You have a big advantage in going over to the US!

I can't do that as often as I could, but I use these people:

https://www.corvette-avenue.com/

Not sure what their delivery is like to Italy, but they are excellent here!  (next day)

I had another supplier, but they seem to have closed.๐Ÿ˜Ÿ

Keep up the good work!

Thanks again, I took a look at their site and it seems very interesting, the prices are also very good, considering that between France and Italy there is no customs on imports. Thanks again
