Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
Welcome Paul
Good to have another Californian in the group. Tell us a little about how you came to own our car, what condition is it in and what are your short term plans for it.
Thanks Its always nice to find another place to read about Vetts.
As for my Vett, Let just say my wife is happy I wont be looking for another car on craigslist. I have always wanted a Vett since 16 when I drove a customers car back to the shop. so fast forward to about 5 yrs ago I was looking on craigslist for a car for my daughter, I stumbled across a 77 that was really nice candy apple red with pearl it was a sweet car all but the Calif emissions that just messed up a great car. About a year ago I was looking for a car for my other daughter and again on craiglist I stumble on the 72 I now have. sadly I had to sell the 77. I just dont have the room for more than one Vett.
The 77 was the same yr of car i used to drive when I was 16 so the was nice to have as my first Vett, But the 72 is a chrome bumper car and that was what I like most. This one is a little rough on the edges, I'm having the rear bumpers chromed as Im writing this, I hope to see them on Friday. I need to do the front grills at some point in time. the interior is in great shape. other than how bubba
would fix burned out dash lights. If you don't need it then cut the wire and tape it off. Its a 72 base model Automatic, someone put hooker headers and side pipes on it, they also put 265/50/15 tires on the stock wheels. and a repaint in a light silvery green. as much as this is not your survivor Vett it is matching numbers and it does look great.
Future plans short term:
so there you have it was a little long but you asked

Future plans short term:
Send out the QJet to Lars for a rebuildLong Term Plans;
change the exhaust inserts to Classic Chambered Exhaust (ordered the Vett packs last Sat)
Restore the front grills
Restore the stock wheels or put some craigers or something on
Continue to locate what was Bubbized and fix it.
Frame off restore of all running gear (not sure ill get to this point)We like to take trips during the summer so all repairs need to be done in the winter.
so there you have it was a little long but you asked

In June we are getting together in Colorado. Not sure I want to drive mine that far but I should have a motorhome by then and if that works will be looking at towing it along. Trailering it I should say.
Look forward to meeting you sometime in the future.
