Vette(s): 1974 L-48 Auto. Just your basic Vette. GM crate motor w/vortec heads and intake. Crane cam. Scorpion rockers, Edelbrock carb. Lots of parts still in boxes... :(
Thanks! I'm looking forward to learning from you guys, and contributing when possible. My standard joke is that I'm headed into year four of a 12-month restoration. I'd like to just once find an original part on the car that works! But the C3's are pieces of art and deserve to be well cared for and driven. All the best, Darryl

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
Welcome and sometimes you get lucky and actually fined something that works that has not been overhaulded or replaced.

I have found a few but much more that needed replacing.

So tell us how you came to own yours and really how far along are you?

Probably a familiar story. Wanted one since I was a teenager. The first one I ever rode in was a '74 when I was about 15 (in '79 or so), and it was the coolest thing I have ever stepped foot in. I retired from the Navy in late '08, and bought the car in early '09. I really anticipated about a year to freshen it up, but the more I unbolted the more "yuck" I found.
Not too far off now. Rebuilt engine, freshened transmission, all new suspension, wiring, wheel bearings (front and rear), diff redone, Vintage Air, etc. Took the interior down to bare bones and insulated the cabin (still remember the hot feet from 30+ years ago!). Didn't pull the body off, but the front clip is removed but going back on in about two weeks. Really want it done by Cruising the Coast this year.
Thank for the warm welcome. I look forward to learning from you guys. Darryl
