Welcome to the forum Jeffery. I'm a silver '81 fan myself. Great site here. We hope you'll join us full time. Make yourself at home.

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
Welcome. What area are you from?
To everyone-THANK YOU for warm reception. I have not had time to post much but I have been selfishly gobbling up information and pointers about this new obsesion in my life-1981 Corvette-Silver, Automatic, mostly stock and definately been used!
I have wanted THIS car since I was a teenager. My mom's boss had one (silver, C3 not positive of the year somewhere between 76 and 81) that he let her borrow for the evening. We drove it around that night and I got the bug. Now, in my 50th year, fate offered me the car that is now on stands in my garage. I bought it for $3700.00 in running and drivable condition (inspected till 5/12) and drove her home. The drive was both enlightening and a bit scary. The engine is tired and leaks, trans seems fine but really leaks, rear diff leaks, found trailing arm bushings well......gone?? But... no rot, some surface stuff but no flaking or rust through and the body and bumpers look un-molested. Oh yeah, as you can guess, the interior is shot......But the radio and the oil pressure gauge works, headlights open and close and from the sidewalk she looks sweeeeet goin down the road.
I don't care it's a 'vette, it's my 'vette and she's gonna be better.
In the garage sits a-350 .030" overbore, flat top 9.5:1 pistons block and a bunch of boxes with a Summit top end kit that will net about 365hp maybe a bit more??? Oh yea and a couple boxes with Hooker Headers and a full true dual pipe setup. (side exhaust in it's future). Full set of polyurethane bushings and as I find more things wrong, more boxes with that stuff in em.
A 700r4 kit from Monster is on it's way.
I think I have lost my freakin mind!!!!! Yipppeee!

WHOA! At first glance I thought you're name was "FROSTBITE". I had frost this morning at home, don't need frostbite this early in the game

Hi Jeff, I just felt compelled to offer a word to the wise. be careful of making purchases for projects too far off in the future, sometimes you've ordered the wrong thing or have changed plans and it's too late to return things. At least I've run in to this situation more than once

Corvette bodies don't/can't rust since they are fiberglass. The frame can, though.
Good luck with your new toy!
