Vette(s): Planning to buy a 1982 C3. India has only a very few C3 and we cannot import cars. The C3 has been lying unused for 8-10 years.
Thanks Adam - I am based in India - my first visit to the USA was in 1984 and since then I have dreamt of owning a C3 corvette. Regretfully in India we drive on the left (so steering wheel is on the right side of the car) - and there are several regulations which prohibit me from getting one from the USA (aside from the 130% customs duty !!!).
I knew someone who had a car (he used to live in the USA so was able to get it back with him) many years back and tracked him down (but he had sold his car). I tracked the new owner - and have located the car - lying unused for 10 years.
I hope I can buy it - and then will start the process of restoration (in India where no parts / engines / expertise is available ???).
I thought i would join the forum to understand more about the car and figure how to get parts etc.

Welcome, Gurtaj! That will be some sight in India to see a C3! You'll find that this is the best site on the net for C3 info and talk! Enjoy!

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
Welcome  I also have an 82.  The crossfire system can be interesting to fix.  Vacuum leaks are the biggest issue.  It does run smooth when you get it working.  Mine was sitting 4 years but had not been run a lot in over 15 years.  You have a rubber bladder in the fuel tank and if it has been mostly full it may be ok.  The fuel will be bad but the tank could be good.  I took the fuel out of the tank changed spark plugs, oil and battery.   I was going to turn it over slowly with the starter and it fire up on the second click of the key.

Welcome to the family my friend. You don't have to have a vette to be a member. we welcome all with the love for these cars. I drove a mail delivery van for 17 yrs. with the steering on the right and it didn't really take a lot of getting used to, but then that wasn't performance driving either. Please make yourself at home. There are no questions considered too silly or insignificant here. Lots of good tech info and great people. We hope you'll suceed in your quest for the vette.
