I'll beat you to the request. I've been casually looking for a C3 "bumper" car for about 1.5 years. I purchased my 1972 last Saturday after a couple weeks of negotiations. The car has not run in about 15 years. Was under a frame off restoration in the SF bay area during that time frame. It was assembled with the original numbers matching parts being rebuilt or restored over the last few months. The body and paint were not attempted yet. It has an older OE correct color code respray. The engine is somewhat modified inside with more compression, a bigger cam and a full balance. The drive line were all rebuilt, the interior 80% replaced. 100% of the brakes and fuel system replaced...all with correct Delco parts. A really well executed thoughtful restoration but not an "over" restored show car type job. Long story short (I have about 15K in receipts for parts and labor), when I saw her for the 1st time last sat. she had only 35 miles on these parts. Wow! I did the test drive with the new magnaflow exhaust bellowing, the new mirror flopping around, strong arm steering and stong foot braking all combing for a true muscle car experience. I bought her without hesitation. My tow rig decided to not pull the grade over the Sierras from the SF bay back to Carson City (near lake Tahoe). So, at dusk in the Sierra foothills, we unloaded the beast and I broke the engine in crossing the Sierras. The truck made it over without the weight of the vett on the trailer. I had no brake lights, no turn signals and the headlamps pointed about 8 feet in front of the car....high beams saved my butt. It ran like a champ snarling all the way.
350 4 speed, manual brakes and steering, telescopic/tilt, Silver Pewter body with blue interior. A rare combo I've been told. And that folks is how I gave myself my own Christmas present. Dave

Congratulations on your new car and welcome to the C3VR family, Dave. I am familiar with Carson City as we had our C3VR Annual Gathering there in June, 2007. We had a great time.

thanks everyone! I'll have to look into these gatherings and see what fits. Sounds like a great time! If anyone knows of local gathers in my neck of the woods please shoot over the details....anywhere in western NV, the CA gold country etc. is just the excuse I need to drive on those beautiful roads. Of course it just snowed 8" last night so the vett sleeps in the garage....next to my first car...the 57 BelAir. I smile every time I walk into the garage....
