Welcome! You'll find that this is the best site on the net for C3 info and talk! Enjoy!

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. I wrote a rambling intro about the history of me & C3's, but I think I took too long & it didn't post (maybe needs to be approved?). Anyway, I am not new to the world of C3's, I have owned my 1980 since the mid 80's (I know, but I wanted something I could work on & drive & not be afraid of). I had mechanically restored it around 1990, and it has been in storage until now. I am still arranging for delivery to my current residence, likely to re-do a lot of what was done, and continue on until I have a respectable C3 again!

The site is having some problems and some posts are getting lost. We hope to have it fixed by this weekend.
Sorry for the trouble.

Well, I had my 'vette flatbedded to my house today, after leaving her to sleep in the garage at my other house since '95. It had been started, moved / rolled up & down the driveway except for the last 5 years. No move, no start, etc. I hosed her down quick, changed the oil / filter, squirted Marvel Mystery Oil down the carb & valve covers, poured a shot in the gas tank. I was going to drain all the other fluids & squirt MMO in the cylinders, when I thought 'everything moves freely, grease / lube points I could see are still not dry, maybe I'll 'tap' the starter to see if she'll turn over (and I had visited her 2 weeks ago & added MMO through the carb, valve covers & in gas tank). Lo & behold she turned freely & easily when tapped. I got some ether & gave it a small shot, and she roared to life with just a tap of the starter (but stalled). I should have stopped there & pressurized the oil pump as I planned, but instead I gave another shot of ether, and she started & stayed running! I shut her down, looked for signs of leaks, damage, etc., found none, checked the oil (pressure was good when started), looked good, help level, no engine noise, not even at first start. I started her again & carefully monitored as she came up to temp. All good, ran as good as the day I put her away, I'm happy!
I used Stabil in 104 Octane gas when putting her away, I wonder if that helped (less than 1/8 tank from being started / rolled back & forth over the years). The engine is a crate motor from RHS, has only about 3,000 mi. on it too BTW, all options / parts were the more durable option, whether that brought performance or not (I think it was dyno'd at 380HP when it was built). I was extremely happy with them and their motor from start to finish, they would call me if they had any questions, or to ask my preferences, good quality product (I see they no longer sell crate motors).
Only issue seems to be something in brakes are blown (was all new, lines, SS calipers, new master cylinder (my suspicion) in 1990, Other than that, it looks like I may get off easy.
I need to do the interior & paint, that was to be my next step anyway. So I have a car that runs like a top in the wind but looks not as good cosmetically as it should. There were also I think chipmunks residing in the glove compartment, which I see no damage, other than chewed papers, and the animal smell, heater cage had debris I can hear and need to deodorize & clean, A/C needs a charge, but other than that it seems better than what I expected! I'll keep everyone posted as to my progress! My goal was to get her on the road before winter, and I just may be close already! Wish me luck!

PS - Anyone have a source for R-12? I have 1-1/2 cans stashed away from when it was still available (and a small R-12 oil charge can), which may be enough to top me off, but I'd rather be safe than sorry if possible, I don't want to convert unless I absolutely have to, it was freezing cold even with the tops off before!
