Just bought a 1979  about 3 weeks ago . Had a bug to do something with a cage ( 4 wheels) and not just our motorcycles . We have 7 early Honda motorcycles that we ride and show as well as a BMW K100 and a Suzuki 1250 Bandit .Also have the usual assortment of daily driver vehicles .
This will be our 4th. Corvette having owned in the past a 1958 , 1966 and a 1971 . The 79 we bought is of driver quality with 39 thousand miles on it . Save for a new radiator and dual exhaust ( no cat ) the car is very orignal but in need of a complete up-dating if not a restoration . I bought this car as something to tinker with and I'm not too concerned that it's a 50 footer .
I plan to replace all of the suspension and body mount bushings soon and then drive the car for the summer ,once fall and winter arrive , I can address the shortfall in power and add a 700R4 that I have . Then maybe I'll work on the interior and paint . Who knows , it's a dark green inside and out , kinda ughly , I kind of like it the way it is !

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
Welcome Rodger

I normally ask new people how they got there car, what condition is it in and what are their plans.

That is not necessary in your case.  So just welcome and there are a lot of people on this site to help you out when ever you need some and you may be able to help guys like me that mostly just stumble around fixing somethings and breaking other things.

I saw a dark green on green C3 a few months ago.  Green is one of my favorite colors but that was a little over powering having it inside and out.  Bottom line is you have to drive it I do not.

tb , thanks for the welcome . I'm not a big time poster but I do enjoy reading what others have done to their vehicles . Lots of knowledge to be gleened from most of the websites I'm on and the knowledge is greatly appreciated .
As for the color ,I passed on this car several times while we looked at other Corvettes . We were looking at 78 / 79 Corvettes and for the amount of money I was willing to spend this turned out to be the best of the bunch . I realize these models are the orphans of the C3 series but I'm fine with that . As I said , something to tinker with .

Dejablu , looks like you and the Misses have some pretty nice Corvettes ! Don't get too angry if you find a dark green ( with patina ? !! ) 79 parked next to you some day . Yeah , it's ughly but it does have a Boom box in the back ! If it only had the 8 track player that it originally came with I'd be in heaven .
