Thanks for the welcome, guys. I've owned my C3 for the last 8 years and have enjoyed every moment. This may be my final year of ownership as I've decided to place it for sale in select owner-oriented collector/enthusiast forums and circles. I purchased it with 15,000 miles on the clock and put 17,000 more sunny-day miles on it. Now it deserves to be handed off to the next appreciative owner who will preserve it as a survivor. Fully documented down to the original salesman's business card. If you know of anyone in the market feel free to pass my contact info on. In the meantime, I'll have a great time visiting the site and learning more about everyone else's C3's. Looks like a great collection of prime Corvettes.

Welcome to the C3VR family, Kevin (KMACR)
Very nice looking 82 ya got there.

I really appreciate the kudos on my C3. And it means alot more coming from owners of the kinds of Corvettes you guys own. Thanks to everyone again. There's a magical allure with Corvettes and though I had considered the sale of mine once before, a couple of years ago, I decided against it after spending an afternoon putting another coat of wax on in prep for potential buyers' review. Once my hand glided over the fender curves and I was sitting in the corkpit to dust the interior, I couldn't bear to put it in the market afterall! :)
This time, it's more driven by necessity and the desire to pass it on to someone who can give it the extra attention all these cars warrant. My life priorities have shifted a bit and the C3 sits for long periods now in a separate garage. A Corvette needs to be out greeting the public and chatted over by gatherings of Vette enthusiasts. I believe I'm doing the right thing, though it's not particularly comfortable to do. The Corvette is still working its magic though----it's brought me in contact with this site and everyone here! Not a bad trade off in the overall scheme of things.

Man, if I thought that I could afford your car, I would buy it in a heart beat!! I can see that you have taken extra care of it. Member of the family, isn't it ??
Merry Christmas to you and the family

Anyway, between myself and the two previous owners the car has always been garage kept which has saved the great finish. I saw an '82 with only 9,000 miles sold recently for $27,500. Pretty sweet. I've listed asking price for mine at $18,000 and noted what needs to be attended to make it perfect. We'll see what happens. Currently it's got an ad on another site. Just listed in time for the holiday :)
But I know how these things go. It takes that perfect convergence of interested enthusiast, recognition of the value, and...well...gumption to make it all come together. Sometimes that can be a long drawn-out search. The whole idea of survivor collector cars is starting to catch on more and more so, in time, perhaps that convergence will manifest itself. In the meantime, I'll just keep on waxing....
