In 1970 I was 10 years old and had just become aware of cars as things to be desired.  I saw the first Corvette that I can remember that year, a shiny red 1970 Stingray.  I was floored.  I had never seen anything that beautiful, nor had I known that cars like that even existed.  I swore to myself that i would own one someday.  43 years later, after family, career, a 1967 Firebird, a 1980 Z28, and many 'ordinary'  vehicles, I finally got my red '70 Stingray. 
She's an amazing car (to me at least).  It has a strong 350cid/300HP with 4 spd trans and factory A/C.  Nice solid frame and birdcage, all numbers match, interior is great, straight body.  It's all pretty much original.  The only major modifications are a Holley carb(wish it still had the Q-jet), and the original exhaust has been replaced with 1969 style sidepipes (love those!)
My first trip with it was on the day I bought it in early May of this year.  It was a 300 mile drive back home and she ran great!  Cruised at 70mph for hours and not a glitch!  Tracked straight and true with nice tight steering.  I was thrilled!  As for plans, well like any 43 year old car, it has its share of minor troubles.  I've repaired the turn signals which needed a new signal switch, reverse lights due to a bad ground, replaced the inoperative horns, fixed a lazy headlamp, etc.  Right now I'm rebuilding the parking brake system.  I've learned a lot in a short time but I've still got a lot to learn. 
But it's all worth it- because I'VE GOT A RED 1970 STINGRAY! (shouted from the rooftop) 

Oh yes, long term plans- I am never gonna part with this car.  It's in the family forever.  Maybe a frame off resto in 5 years or so.
