Vette(s): 1971 Coupe Big Block
Hello All!!
I am a retired military member who has had a 1971 Coupe Big Block in storage at home in Michigan for almost 20 years now.  My brother began a body-off restoration but didn't complete it (frame was taken off, acid dipped, body sanded, etc) so now it is in pieces.  Additionally, the big block was found to have a crack in the block, so the engine is toast.
I am now in a position to bring the car out here to Virginia and begin the restoration as a project with my 13-year old son.  I'll be scouring this site for tips and sources for parts, etc, but if there is someone who knows of a great place to start, I'm all ears!!
Looking forward to bringing my old flame back to life after all these years, and enjoying a memorable project with my son!!!

Hi Misha,   Welcome to the Registry! Your rebuild project sounds like an exciting challenge for you and your son. ZIP Products in Mechanicsville, VA is one good source for parts and advice. I am down the road from you in Charlottesville - there is a '68 big block here that has been parked since 1995 out in a neighbor's yard, but I can't convince them to sell it. If you make it over to Triangle, Cooper Corvettes has a clean '71 coupe on their lot. They are a few blocks from the US Marine Museum.
