Welcome Stanley
Tell us something about how you came to own your C3. Include something about yourself so we can get to know a little more about you and your car.
Welcome to the C3VR family, Stanley (nemo).
We are having our annual C3VR Gathering in Little Chute at the Country Inn and Suites from May 15-17. It would give you a great chance to meet over 50 of the members from all around the country. Hope to see you there.

There is a lot of patience around here a couple of guys like me are like the two buzzards siting on the fence "One said patience hell lets just go out an kill something".
I does look like a nice car. If you need help navigating the site just ask and someone will help you in that area also. Most of us have to go through a learning curve on how to use the forum.
Cheers!

Thank you Joel! I wish I could have watched you to see what I did wrong. I have managed to add a personal picture, so I am learning.
A little about me. I'm a mechanical engineer from UW Madison. I have 50 years experience in tube audio. I've been working and building cars for 45 years or so.
Found my 1972 Corvette on ebay last October. My wife, Mary, was gone for the weekend with friends and I spent a few hours looking at neat cars on ebay. I decided to do a search starting in Wisconsin and the Corvette showed up in La Crosse. Saw it on Saturday, drove to La Crosse on Monday, went back with a car hauler on Tuesday and brought it home.
The car didn't run, didn't stop, was full of water, and the interior was rotted out of it. It had not been driven in a couple of decades, I found out why as I took it apart.
Complete new interior went in first, found a correct radio on ebay, fixed it, along with a new clock. Took the interior apart down to the fiberglas, all wiring removed, the dash went in the bathtub. All the vents and parts went through the dishwasher. Rebuilt the seats, new seat belts, all new window, door, and top gaskets, as well as the gaskets in the rear vent.
From there all new exhaust, new calipers, hoses, and master cylinder.
As far as not running, turned out the motor was rebuilt many years ago and a Crower cam was put in. The trouble was the Crower cam was ground 10 degrees retarded by mistake. The motor had no vacuum no power, wouldn't even run the power brakes. The quadrajet was warped from overtightening, etc. A new "Howards" cam and lifiters and a Holley Spreadbore have solved most of the problems. I will be installing new valve springs in the next couple of days which should solve the remaining issues. Then I'll rebuild the quadrajet and put that back on.
Tires were 25 years old, they were replaced yesterday. Went for the first 100 mile trip yesterday.
Bought a tilt wheel on ebay this morning.
That's about it so far, thanks for the welcome. I hope to add to this site as I can.

With all of your experience you should be warehouse full of information for others. That is what make this site so good is we have some that have lots of knowledge and then lots with specialized knowledge because they did something on their cars. I fit into the class of the ones with little knowledge because we have done few things with our cars.
It is all great.

Welcome Stanley! I see you're in Oshkosh. That's just 20 miles from where we'll be having our annual gathering. It'll be my first and I've been told they are lots of fun. I met a bunch of the folks here at Corvettes at Carlisle last year and can tell you first hand they're a bunch of wonderfully friendly and helpful folks!
Here's the link to the forum topics:
I hope you can make it.
