Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.

I guess I got tired of looking at Corvette calenders and finally talked my wife into getting one. We looked at a couple, found a 1980 L 82 sitting in a garage in Priest River, Idaho. The owners only trailered it to local car shows. It wasn't even insured. Odometer says 25,400 miles and the car looks original. Everything stock and working except the AM/FM 8 Track had been replaced with a CD player. We bought it and stored it until the snow is gone, not yet. The little bit I drove it really gave me the bug. I really would never drive it all over , too nice.
I found a 74 coupe down in Portland and brought it home. This one has a good body and paint but needs a few repairs.
Before this I sold my last 2 seater,Porsche 914, in 1984. I feel like I jumped into this with both feet,but after all these years in a pickup, driving these are a rush of adrenaline. Hoping to lean on the experience of C3VR crowd for advice and opinion as I restore the 74. It has only been driven 11,000 miles in the last 12 years with very little maintenance. It has receipts proving it has 1124,000 original miles. As I get a chance to drive and revive these cars I hope to gain adviceand possibly pass on some experiences myself. For starters I read with interest the thread on tires as the Dunlops on the 74 were manufactured in 1995 and are going to be the first investment. Then shocks, Then ?

First thing I was told and I like to pass on is get the GM shop (maintenance manual) for your year.
It makes a difference and all of the maintenance manuals that lump all the C3 together are not specific enough most of the time. I know I have a few of them. Of course I have the added problem of being the only fuel injection C3 year. So there are lots of things different about mine.
Google your year and maintenance manual again it is the GM manuals you want. Lots of help lots of support on this site.
