Ok I will bite. Post a picture and give us a story to go with the 1 dollar investment.
I know of a kid (22 years old) that was given a 61 Corvette by the guy he used to mow is lawn. It was his sons who was killed in vietnam. The guy took it out of storage less than 2000 miles and gave it to him for a wedding present. That was about 15 years ago.
What is your $1 story.
Well first of all ya gotta know my father in law. He wastes more money than most will ever see (its crazy).
When I met my wife some 5 years ago, I noticed that he all of these cars in his back yard: an old Datsun 280Z, an old Jaguar, an older Beretta, a 75 Caprice Classic Convertible, a 65 mustang convertible and of course my Vette.
I had been on him for the first 3 years of fixing up, or at least give me the money and I would do it for him. I asked him why he had parked it (14 years ago) and he said that it was leaking brake fluid. I asked him how much it was using and he said maybe a small bottle once a month......yeah.
Two Christmas's ago he came up to me and asked me if I had a dollar and I told him yeah. He proceeded to hand me the title and told me that I just bought myself a Vette. I was in shock to say the least, but later found out that his wife told him that he couldn't buy a new one until he got rid of the other one. Worked for me. lol
I ended up replacing the fuel pump, fuel line, putting Lucas Oil Treatment in each cylinder for a couple of weeks or so, new spark plugs and cleaning out the fuel tank and rebuilding the carb and a few other small things and it fired up and runs just fine. I have done little things like new shocks, new upper and lower ball joints, new brake calipers all the way around and a few other little things. He actually asked me why I was replacing the tires tho...... after I "tried" to explain that they were dry rotted, he told me that I was wasting my money.
I really lucked into this one and am planning on giving it free and clear to the first one of my kids who graduates college with at least a Bachelors Degree. I always heard you could put a price on education.
As far as pics, I need to dig some out and I will post them.

I bought mine from my dad for $1, too.
$17,000 later, it still ran and looked like crap.
Wound up selling it.
