Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
Another Crossfire, welcome Tommy
Tell us something about how you came to own your car and what are your plans for it?
Cool thanks guys!
Im only 41 yrs old.
I fell in love with Corvettes at a early age of about 7 yrs old with some major infulence from my older brother who was about 14 or 15 yrs old at the time.
I never dreamed I would be in a position to ever own one and not have to drive it every day.
I have a 2007 Siveraldo truck for that :)
I was fortunate to have enough cash to go buy a 1982 corvette last July 4th (how fitting to buy the the ONLY American sportscar on a Great American day!)
I was looking for any C3 between 1980, 81 or 82
I just love that body on those years....
I had heard about the crossfire issues, but after reading a lot from other owners in forums I didnt mind diving in when I found my 82.
Turned out it had a blown head gasket and I had it rebuilt and I cleaned it up and painted the motor myself and now the engine looks like it should! (I'll post before and after pics later)
It still needs some tuning done and other parts replaced as 30 yrs has taken its toll on them.
Overall the car is in REALLY great shape!
Finally started driving it in June...showed the car for the 1st time at the Jr Motorsports Corvette show 2 weeks ago.

Great post some pictures when you get a chance. Be careful about the size as if it is much larger than 150k it will give some people issues. There are a few on this forum that are using slow connections.
This is a free site to reduce the size of pictures and it does not require you to load it onto your computer http://www.picresize.com/edit

Welcome to the forum Tommy. Please feel at home. Hope you'll grow to love this site as much as we do. See you around the forum.
Gil, thanks for the pic resize site. That's always been an issue for me.

Adam found that and posted it a couple of days ago. I just book marked it. It simpler to use than the software I have that I used to use for re-sizing.
Tommy,
Welcome to a great Registry. It has a wealth of experience, information on gatherings and uber freindly people. Again welcome!
