Love them '81s. I used to live down your way, Poway. We used to ride (horses) with the guys from the Mirmar stables. Welcome to the forum Adam.

Thanks guys. I got my first 81 Vette this week. It only has 36k orig miles but it had been sitting with a blown head gasket for the past year. Orig owner passed away and I bought the car from his wife.
I will be taking the heads off this week and getting them checked out as well as flushing all the water and oil out of everything.
Ace in the hole:
Miramar stables.. During the fires I had to run out and save them with a couple of buddies. Where you around for the Cedar fires? I had a 78 Camaro that was bured right down the way...RIP

Horses or my Camaro.. easy choice for me.

Nope, I've never seen anything like those fires, very scary stuff. My time was in the '60s.
