well, sorry for the false alarm. we drove 280 miles to go get the car and when we got there i was heartbroken.
the front end (all the way across the front) had been damaged and "repaired." there was damage "repair" at the driver side pillar where the windshield attaches. there was bodywork done to the driver's rear quarter. and if that weren't enough, the frame was like paper under the doors on each side.
he never disclosed any of the damage. i couldn't take the car.
so... it looks like i will be lurking once again.

Wendy, even if you don't have that dream car yet, this is THE place to be!! The folks here can give you all kinds of info as you narrow down your search on what to look for, what to stear clear of and how to tell if you're really getting the deal the seller is telling you that you are.
Stick around. We'll be glad to help you with your search!!
BTW, it's my Dodge Ram that's kept running long enough (224K mi so far)to get me to a point where I can keep driving it so I can make the payment for the Vette!!
I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!
i found mine on ebay. looked around at everything else for a year before i searched ebay. your vette is just waiting for you, this is the place to be though, the best info on c3 bar none. be patience and when your body, heart, and mind says it is right then it is right.

Welcome Wendy, glad to have you join the family here anyway. Hope you find your vette soon. That really does suck, but it just wasn't ment to be. I'm sure you'll find one that jump starts your heart again.
