Hi guys!

Thanks for the great welcome.   Here are some pics and a long story in case you are bored.

I was 5 years old and got a ride in my neighbor’s Stringray with the T-Tops off and sidepipes roaring.  Since then, I knew I would have my own one day.  A few years back, while having dinner with another couple, I listened to our friend's materialistic wife whine about how she needed an upgrade to her wedding ring set. When she instigated me to discuss why I haven't made it a point to advise my boyfriend on which style and carat size ring I would want, I told the dinner table, "I'd drive my engagement ring instead of wear it any day." While I definitely got my point across, I had to deal with unapproving glances from the other women, but my boyfriend smiled from ear to ear.

Here we are a couple years later, wanting to make sure he was doing the right thing, my boyfriend asked me if I still meant what I had said. I told him that if I was the right girl for him, then he would know me, and would know what he should choose. I know- it sounds vague and in "woman code", but I knew I would love even a ring from a candy machine. The next day I received a teaser picture on my mobile phone of a side pipe peeking out of a car cover.  I couldn’t have been more thrilled!

He picked it up at the end of July and I sat through two and a half months of teaser pics on my cell phone while he worked late nights after work at a friends garage while he got the car ready for the road.  The car was barn find and has sat covered and garaged for 20 years.  While a paint job and refinished interior is down the road, the amount of work and love he is putting into this project is far more important to me than extra carats on my finger. He is old school, so the "ring" ring will come too, but the car will always hold a special place in my heart. Most people can't understand my choice when I say “Close-ratio Muncie 4-speed with Hurst shifter, Holley carb, Hooker headers and sidepipes AND a supercharger(!)”, then they will never understand.

The "4 C's" redefined- chrome, carburetor, cubic inches, and curves.
