Vette(s): 1971 T-top. I just had car shipped from my parents house in florida where it has sat for over 12 years..It is going to be a long project!

Well I finally got my front suspension installed.  It is a Coilover from QA1.  My only concern is the all the weight that is on the spring is sitting just on that small Jam Nut where before it was in the lower a-arm.  It doesnt seem like it will hold...anyone useing these???  How do they hold up??

Ron

I am not using them but am looking forward to hearing your impressions of the kit. Now you can change the ride height and the firmness of the suspension to suit you.

Yeah how does this compare to the front leaf spring upgrade thing?

we use coil over's on our dirt cars and they take a hell of a beating, take a hit or bounce off the wall, they bend or break, never stripped a jam nut, street rodder's use em to without any problems, as far as a front leaf Ive heard good things about them, but they hang to low on a c-3 for my taste, and if you wanted to put a jack under the crossmember they get in the way on a c-4 the front cross member is slotted to allow the leaf to tuck up inside the crossmember, if I were to do this changover coil overs would be my choice.        anips38492.7759953704

I sell and have them same thing on my 80. I absolutley love them. I never had any problems with them at all and they hold up just fine. Did you remove the 2 nuts on the lower a-arm or did you drill them out? I left mine in and drilled them out for the supplied bolts. The ride is awsome. You can really notice a difference w/just a click or two. I also installed the rear adjustable shocks but I am going to try a heavier rear spring in the back(360lb) to see if it will balance out the ride any better. I will also have a rear coilover conversion in the couple of months. I'm having some parts made up right now and that I need to test them out. If all goes well, I will have a kit ready for the market.

Vette(s): 1972 coupe/350 cid/mild cam/4 spd/20 ft. paint (looks perfect from 20 ft.), but it sure runs nice.

That sounds pretty interesting....will it allow for ride height adjustment?

If you keep coming up with new parts I will never get this thing put together!!

I knocked off the nuts and then drilled out hole to allow bolt to fit.  I called QA1 and thats what they said to do..
