I’ve embarked on a new area of my car, the suspension. Overall I’ve been very please with the ride. As always I want to make sure everything is ship shape and working as designed. While going through some “very old” documentation last weekend, I noticed an invoice from a corvette shop that shows, “replaced front springs with F41”, and a separate note stating, “replaced rear leaf spring with F41”. I tried to call the Corvette Shop that did the work and they are out of business. I’ve looked through the manuals and mail order catalogs to see exactly how the F41 compares to what came on the original car. Does any one have any type of comparison of the F41 to the stock springs for a 72 LT1 coupe?
As always, thanks for your help!
Steve

The rear leaf springs on a F41 are 7 leaves. On a standard rear leaf, there are 9 leaves.
The F41 has heavy duty shocks both front and rear. The F41 shocks are going for big bucks on ebay. Recently used fronts went for over $2200 and rears went over $750. The F41 package also includes a heavier front sway bar and of course must have a rear sway bar.
I don't have my book at work and I can't remember what the difference is on the front springs.

That's a great start.. not sure yet about which sway bars I have.. I'm at work as well.. I did find this on the web: 63 - 77 HD F41 7-Leaf Rear Spring. This is a 2 1/4 inch, seven leaf spring came with the F41 option, and is rated at 330 lbs vs the standard at 196lbs... Explains why my wife's heads shakes!
I am still trying to find info on the ratings for the front coils!
