My  AC is blowing cold air, but only  on  the lower  vents.  The air does  not come out  the  center and  side  air  vents on the dash.  I was told a mouse had  got into the system and  "stoped up" the vents.  How do  you clean out the vents/blower.   OR could this  be  a  electrical  switch  issue?  Any  ideas /approach  appreciated....zzzs

Most likely a vaccuum problem. Does it blow thru the top when on defrog?
Could also be the "mode/blend" door inside the plenum is stuck/damaged.
I'm not up on the backsides of the dash on the later Sharks, but that's where you'll likely need to start looking.

Hmmm, I have same problem - sort of !
In order to get air to blow out centre & sides I have
to first run with it in the air con max (first stop from Off) position.
While it is in this position it will then switch the air to the centre & side vents no prob, and once this has occurred I slide the lever across the rest of the way to normal air and all is fine.

Don't know why this is, haven't had the time to look yet!

My vote is a vacuum leak under the dash.  The easiest way to replace all the vacuum hoses is to take out the dash and then replace the hoses one at a time.  You will then find all of the center vent boxes which may contain some interesting debris.  Good luck and be ready to draw blood.  This is not a fun task.

OK,   1.   What are the stepts to redo vacuum hoses in dash.
         2.  What is  the mode/blend door in plenum
Willing to attempt, but would like plan of approach.  I have gotten in the dash by removing radio and gages, does not appear to be much debri in the vents.  Thinking this may very well be a vacuum hose or else.  I see in the 78 corvette assembly manual: Heater Control, Blowe Sitch & Cable there is a cable (ASM-TEM) and mandatory adjustment procedure.  Does this affect the air-flow or blend AC?

Plan to be Saturday (Sept 17th) at the Mid America Show in Effingham, IL Dark Blue vet with license ZZZ2.  Would like to discuss vaccuum issues.  cell 217-460-0460

Thanks Chuck

Ooops, sorry for delay in reply, up the mountain skiing
at the mo! Weather has packed in this afternon, so what
better way to fill in the remainder of the day but to
check out wot's been happening on c3vr...

To answer your questions...

1) Don't seem to see a lot, but there are a number of
local vette clubs so they must be out there. Really I'm
just having a stab, but I figure there must be a couple
of hundred or so. Check out our local auction site
www.trademe.co.nz and search "corvette" and you will
find there seems to be plenty for sale !

2) You teaser. I wish.

hi triple zs, my a/c is picky, it has to be right on a position to work properly on high speed for the dash vents to work. i had my system rebuilt two years ago, i have a question, while the dash was out i saw some parts that said "made in canada" where corvettes ever built in canada? i have a 77 vette. gene
