I just joined recently and I'm not sure how I can get a picture of my car loaded, or better yet, to appear on my posts and replies.  Also, I have a question about my build sheet.

I've got a 74 and I have a mostly intact build sheet.  However, it is in poor condition as far as being able to read it.  I am planning on getting it carefully scanned but just haven't found the time.

Does anyone have a clean copy of what a blank build sheet from 74 so I can see what it looked like?  I would love to see that to figure out what some of the codes on mine are.

Welcome to the Shark Tank, Marshall, and congrats on finding any part of a build sheet on your 74!!

74's were part of a recall to repair a cracked fuel return line fitting. Most of them do not have build sheets left due to this. The dealers had to remove the tanks and repair the fittings, so the vast majority of the build sheets were destroyed then.

We can help de-code what you have if you can post it here. There are several places that can reproduce build sheets and window stickers, for a price.
Good luck finding an original in good shape to go by!!

I seem to recall seing that about the cars (the recall), but my memory says that mine was not a part of it.  That may explain the presence of my sheet.

In the options section of the sheet, this is what I can read:
First Column:

A51- Bucket Seat
0G5 - Folding Top

2nd column:

C60 - Air Conditioning
GV7 - 3.55 Carrier
L82 - 350 High Perf
M21 - 4spd

The codes for the next column are mostly gone, but I can tell the top two are:
QRM - White Stripe Tires
U69 - AM/FM Radio (not stereo)
the last one in that column ends with "3" but I don't know what it is

Then I have in the next column
Z12 Speedo Gear
1GB Tire Press Stk
1CT Fldg Top-Whte
14L Lower-Silver

and the last column shows
400 Black Trim-VY
8MA  (looks like?) LH Frt Sprg
7MA  (looks like?) RH Frt Sprg

Under that, it shows "XXX CUSTOMER ORDER"

Of course, some of these are fairly standard types of options, but I can't find a reference to "GV7" anywhere, though I'm assuming it is the gears.  Some in the last few columns really throwm me though.

Any ideas?

I was looking at the stats today and noticed that 74's are the smallest contingent in the registry!!  I agree.  There are so many great things that make 74's unique, how could you not chose one!

It looks like you've got most of the info correct.
The codes, such as the "GV7" aren't really going to be listed anywhere, like the "Black Book", or even in the NCRS "Spec. Book". These are the codes that were put on individual parts, or components, that the assy. line workers used to indentify specific options, or base equipment to install on the cars as they went down the line.

The only codes that are easily available, are the "RPO" codes, which are basic options, or systems. Example: An A/C ordered car will have an RPO code of "C60". This is just for the A/C system. There are many other parts that aare required to install A/C, such as heavier springs, and a higher amp alternator. The "Window Sticker" will only show the "C60" option, but it will not list all of the other components required. The "Build Sheet" does.

Only thru observing many original build sheets, and verifying the equipment on the vehicle can every code be verified, and then, hopefully, published.

The GV7 is the specific gear ratio(3.55) that was ordered for your car.

I would encourage you to scan your sheet, or what's left of it, and preserve the original somewhere safe.
