Does anyone have a clean copy of what a blank build sheet from 74 so I can see what it looked like? I would love to see that to figure out what some of the codes on mine are.

74's were part of a recall to repair a cracked fuel return line fitting. Most of them do not have build sheets left due to this. The dealers had to remove the tanks and repair the fittings, so the vast majority of the build sheets were destroyed then.

We can help de-code what you have if you can post it here. There are several places that can reproduce build sheets and window stickers, for a price.

Good luck finding an original in good shape to go by!!

Hey ,

The codes, such as the "GV7" aren't really going to be listed anywhere, like the "Black Book", or even in the NCRS "Spec. Book". These are the codes that were put on individual parts, or components, that the assy. line workers used to indentify specific options, or base equipment to install on the cars as they went down the line.
The only codes that are easily available, are the "RPO" codes, which are basic options, or systems. Example: An A/C ordered car will have an RPO code of "C60". This is just for the A/C system. There are many other parts that aare required to install A/C, such as heavier springs, and a higher amp alternator. The "Window Sticker" will only show the "C60" option, but it will not list all of the other components required. The "Build Sheet" does.
Only thru observing many original build sheets, and verifying the equipment on the vehicle can every code be verified, and then, hopefully, published.
The GV7 is the specific gear ratio(3.55) that was ordered for your car.
I would encourage you to scan your sheet, or what's left of it, and preserve the original somewhere safe.
