Vette(s): 1979, 350sb, as my kids affectionately call it "shit brown" Corvette purchased in 1996. 84,000+ miles. Not a show car, but I love her just the same.

Wow!  15 C3's in one fell swoop?  Now that would be an accomplishment worthy of note!  Great job.

Ken:

Anything on a hotel list or reference point for driving directions?

Not pushing, just want to confirm plans as soon as possible.

Thanks

Vette(s): Picked it up and it running good now. Just need to do a few more things and she will be 100 percent.

Here is the address of the hotel Ken is talking about:

Sheraton Suites Akron
(330) 929-3000
1989 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls, OH

I used to live in that area and know it very well. This area that Ken is talking about was revamped back in the late 70's early 80's and is very nice. If this becomes a yearly event, maybe next year I bring my car. I don't want to take it on such a long trip right now since I don't know that car as well I should.

Ken, can I suggest going through Sand Run Park. There are tons of places there where you can stop and take some really nice pictures of your cars with nature as your background.

Sorry I haven't been on in the last couple of weeks.   I have been as busy as a one armed paper hanger with the hives.

I am starting to plan the cruise route.  It will include a stop at Summit Racing, and go past Hale Farm and Village.  Hale is a working farm from the 1800s.  Quite an attraction.  We may go past the Goodyear Air dock, the largest freestanding structure in the world until just recently.

I will post a list of Hotels/Motels in the area this weekend.  I will have time to get the list together by then.

I will also post directions from several different areas to here.

Time to get my plans laid out.  More coming soon.

Hi Ken,

I'd really like to come to your get together but already have "Corvettes at Mackinaw" booked. I think it's a great idea for a regional outing. Good luck and all of you that can attend I hope you have a great time.

Greg, tThe only thing wrong with Sand Run park is the ford.  Not everyone wants to drive their Vette through a water trough in the road.  But I am planning some nice country side and curvy roads.  Part of the cruise will be in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and Recreation area.

The Pride N Joy went into the shop last night for some needed maintenance items.  Am hoping that I can get the AC and cruise done before coming down as well.

Yes, need that hotel info soon!!!!!  We're getting tight on time, and I'd like to confirm early, but also don't want to drive 20 miles to or from the park either.

Am looking forward to spending the day with other C3er's for the first time.  Any one thinking of going to Cuyahoga Falls from the Michigan area, I wouldn't mind meeting up and traveling the way together.  I'll be driving down sometime on Friday, and back on Sunday morning.  It should be interesting to see how many tankfuls it's going to take to get there and back.

See you all there!

These are what my daughter came up with when I asked her to make a list.  My notes are next to them.  The first three are all very good bets.

Sheraton Suites                                      Very nice upscale, very close

1989 Front St. Cuy. Falls

(330) 929- 3000

Country Inn                                           Very nice, very close

1420 Main St, Cuy. Falls

(330) 926- 1233

Economy Inn                            Better price, clean and neat.  Also very close

1070 Graham Rd. Cuy. Falls

(330) 929- 8200

Ranch Motel                                          Cheaper  (sort of dive)

3608 State Rd. Cuy. Falls,

(330) 928- 8192

Raddison                                               A few miles distance, but classy, part of the old

20 W. Mill St, Akron                         Quaker Oats building,  actually in the old grain

330- 384- 1500                                silos.  Very historical, very cool. Lots of shops.

Courtyard by Marriot                           Don’t know

4047 Bridgewater Pkwy Stow

Hampton Inn                            Brand new, fairly close

4331 Lakepointe Corporate Dr, Stow

(330) 945- 4160

Courtesy Inn                                          Older but seems decent

210 W. Market St. Akron

(330) 762- 9581

Miller Hotel                                           Can you say cheap dive?  Old

1226 Highbrook St, Akron

(330) 376- 6055

Temporary Lodging by Cedarwood                 Don’t know

1765 Merriman Rd. Akron

(330) 864- 7370

Red Roof Inn                            Several miles, actually the longest distance, about

      2939 S Arlington Rd  Akron           10 miles but it’s a Red Roof.

      800) 733-7663

According to Hotels.com, Sheraton Suites has no vacancy for the entire weekend of the gathering.  Beautiful hotel, great location, but NO vacancy.  Sorry!

Think I'll be trying the Country Inn.  Hope it has a pool!

See you there!

I'm not sure if it has a pool.   But I have a hose!  Close?
