Has anyone been to the Vettefest in the past, it is March 15-16. I could use some parts, but I am not sure if I want to spend the $200-300 to get there. Also will lots of items be sold by Sunday, when it starts Saturday? (www.midamericapromotions.com for info.)

I went last year and was really dissapointed in the show. I do plan on going again just to see if it is any better.

There are two Vettefests each year, one in the spring, in March and the other in the fall, in November. Of the two, the fall one is always bigger and has more vendors, cars, etc. This is usually because more people will put their car away after Vettefest since they need to clean it up for the show, it is then already clean for storage. Plus, most of the time, mid-March is still kinda messy around here. The other reason the fall show is bigger is that during the winter everyone wants to work on their car and so it is the best time to get parts. I still go to both each year but I know from experience that the fall show is bigger.

As a matter of fact, my new car and I will be in Vettefest in November 2003. I will be showing with the North Shore Corvette Club. I will give you a hint as to which car is mine. Look for a car in the group in which the license plates do NOT match the car. The car is not a Corvette, but the plates do. As of about 2 months ago I became vetteless. I will own another soon but the right deal hasn't come along yet. If you do go to Vettefest and figure out which car is mine, say hello.
