Last of the C5 Generation – The last C5 came off the assembly line Thursday afternoon. The Commemorative Edition LeMans Blue Coupe will be delivered to the NCM within the next few days where it will displayed until Labor Day Weekend and the 10th Anniversary Celebration. The car was made available to the NCM to use as a fundraiser. Raffle tickets are $25 each and can be purchased at http://www.corvettemuseum.com/raffle/index.shtml.

Total 2004 Production – 34,064 Corvettes.
Plant Shutdown – The Plant has begun its two week shutdown. They will reopen for tours and begin production of the C6 (2005 model year) beginning July 19th.
4th of July Weekend – I hope each of you and all of America will remember the significance of this weekend. Freedom is indeed not free. This would certainly be a good time for all of us to re-read the Declaration of Independence. Perhaps even better would be for us to read it with our families/friends. What an awesome tradition this would be for each of us to start doing each 4th of July.
Then just maybe the closing words of the Declaration of Independence will have more meaning to all of us, "And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor."
One of the comments I have made on several occasions is that to me America’s Sports Car, the Corvette is a wonderful representation of our great country and the freedoms that creative, dedicated and talented men and women can make happen. Thus a great responsibility falls to each of us as enthusiasts and as stewards of that special Corvette Spirit, the spirit of America’s Sports Car!
Let’s Celebrate and Let’s Celebrate America! Have a wonderful weekend!
