If you haven't been following the NCM plans for 2009, they are trying to get 15.000 cars to show up. I suspect most hotels in the state of KY are already booked. That many cars should create some major gridlock at times. I love going to the NCM, but not for the 2009 caravan. That'll just be far too many cars and people for me - especially in a fairly small town

I'm with you on this one Terry.... I did the 99 Caravan and I enjoyed the C3 gatherings at Hershey and Pigeon Forge 3 times as much...
Last year the wife and I did the Adirondack Corvette weekend in Lake George NY and loved the event and the country...
Adam just posted a pole on next years Gathering...
and I should have voted for New England...nice country...and to be honest I would rather be a big fish in a small pond then a small fish in the ocean..

I agree with Terry, our C3VR group would be lost in a crowd like that. I went to Kerbek Chevy's Toys for Tots 2 years ago in Atlantic City, won't do that again. 500 Vettes on the local street, we sat in grid lock for 1-1/2 hours. I don't need that.

I agree, I hope the musuem doesn't win in the poll of where to have the next member gathering. I was looking forward to attending next years gathering, but if it is at the museum, I will not. Please vote for the New England area, it is a different location. Our first gathering was in the northeast (Hershey), I hope this wins out. Just my 2 cents. The musuem will just be gridlock I suspect with all the cars they are expecting.

I mentioned that my wife and I attended the Adirondack Corvette fest in Glen Falls New Youk last year...and to be honest we enjoyed ourselves quite a bit...
The event was based at the Roaring Brook Resort in the Adirondack Mountians ...Resort is OLD..but clean rooms,... FASTASTIC FOOD...and I do like to eat. couple of swimming pools tennis courts etc on the premises or just behind a tree... short walk to dinner from anywhere on the site...beautiful country .. No internet connection and to be honest even AOL did not have a local number to call to get connected...
Was not excactly a motel six operation as the cost of Breakfast and Dinner was included in the price of the room...(all inclusive type of place)...
Just thought I'd mention it as a possibility for our 2009 gathering because it has it all..plenty of rooms all on in seperate buildings surronding the of the dinning area (and BAR)... they even have hoses to wash the cars...LOL
Just a thought IF New England comes up a winner next year... PS...this place is about 1-2 hour drive from Montrial ...the copule next door to us were canadian..
Check out the Adoronkack Corvette web site to get an idea of the location price etc that they charged...
More then enough room for everyone in one central location for all of us....road tour was a short 40-50 mile drive up to visit and tour Fort Ticonderoga ..

I couldn't agree more with Tom
Although I'd like to go to a Corvette Caravan someday, I'd rather not see our Annual Gathering be part of this mess. I really really don't like sitting in grid lock
Even if it is all Corvettes.

Can someone move the poll thread "To The Top" to get it back on the 24 hour page? I've placed my vote, but others who haven't might be more likely to vote if they can find the post more easily.

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

Terry:
I agree. I just posted comments that say the same thing on the 2009 gathering forum. It would be extremely difficult to have a gathering anywhere near the museum during this time. I am on the Missouri 2009 Caravan thread and folks are already talking about the difficulty of finding rooms in Nashville and Louisville.
