50th Anniversary Caravan DVD Is Here

The highly anticipated 50th Anniversary Caravan DVD featuring caravan footage, interviews and clips from the 50th Anniversary event activities is now available in the Corvette Store! The caravan video is an award winning production by dedicated volunteers who donated their time and effort to its creation. Under the guidance of husband and wife team Dave and Dale Dunn, volunteers from caravans across the globe snapped stills and captured video showing the excitement of being caravan/event participants. Dave and Dale worked for more than a year to pull together a video that tells the caravan story. The video was entered into the Communicator Awards where it competed in the Video/Film/Multi-Media category and entries were judged on quality, creativity and resourcefulness. In the video category under External Communications Documentary, the 50th Anniversary National Corvette Caravan DVD won the Award of Distinction, competing against productions from MTV, Speed Channel and other media outlets.

The 50th Anniversary Caravan DVD is available through the Corvette Store for $19.95. Order your copy online at: www.corvettemuseum.com/store or call (800) 53-VETTE.

High Performance Driving School Plans Underway

Plans for the first ever NCM sponsored High Performance Driving School are currently being developed for October 2005 – and we need your input! This exciting driving school event will focus on teaching students how to handle a vehicle safely at a controlled and supervised venue. Beginners will learn about weight transfer, handling, cornering forces, braking, “seeing the road” and driving smoothly. Tentative plans call for the event to be held at Carolina Motorsports Park, and the school will have room for a maximum of 70 students using their own Corvettes. Instructors will ride with each student during all track time, and all levels of drivers will have classroom as well as track time scheduled. We expect a minimum of 3.5 hours of track time for each run level over the two-day event, and we estimate that the cost of the event will be no more than $400 for the two-day activities. If you are interested in being a part of this driving school event, please contact NCM Events Manager, Roc Linkov at: roc@corvettemuseum.com
