Own a Piece of Corvette History from the Original Flint Plant
The Corvette Assembly Plant in Flint Michigan, which was home to the first 300 Corvettes, was recently razed. Upon its demolition, General Motors generously offered bricks from the building’s stature to be used as a Museum fundraiser. Corvette enthusiasts can now own these significant pieces of Corvette’s history! The historic bricks feature an engraved, numbered commemorative plate and certificate of authenticity stamped with the Museum seal. For a $200 donation, you can request a specific number up to four-digits to be engraved; or make a $100 donation and receive a brick with a Museum assigned numbered plate and certificate. Bricks with specially requested numbers will be shipped 4 to 6 weeks after the order is placed. Museum assigned numbered bricks will be shipped after June 1 to allow time for enthusiasts to request a special four-digit number. Five-digit numbers may be reserved at a later date. Find out more about this special fundraiser and view a list of reserved numbers here: http://www.corvettemuseum.com/flint-bricks/ or call (800) 53-VETTE.
C5/C6 Birthday Bash Update
If you have not yet made plans to attend the C5/C6 Birthday Bash – you only have until April 7 to pre-register. Guests who are pre-registered not only are entitled to the commemorative dash plaque, lapel pin and newly added “custom” event badges, but they are included in a special drawing that might land them a seat in a new C6 Corvette! All pre-registered event attendees are included in the drawing for a “ride with” in a C6 – so register before April 7 to be included. This year’s bash promises to be one of the biggest yet - over 500 people have pre-registered to date. Many of the limited participant activities are filling up fast so register and find out more here: https://www.corvettemuseum.com/registration/c5_bash/registration.shtml or call (800) 53-VETTE.
From the Corvette Plant “Performance Press”
This week, the GM Corvette Assembly Plant will start the second Manufacturing Validation Build (MVB) for the C6. The goal of this build is to test the assembly tooling and processes for the new car. The first car came off the end of assembly on Friday. A total of 20 units will be built during the next few weeks. Look for more information to come soon!
