Corvette Racing Gears Up for Long Beach
The streets of Long Beach are uncharted territory for the American Le Mans Series, but several Corvette Racing drivers already know the ins and outs of the famed waterfront circuit. The upcoming 100-minute sprint race on the bayside circuit on April 14 - the shortest race on the ALMS calendar - will mark the series' first appearance at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, but it will be déjà vu for Corvette Racing's Jan Magnussen and Johnny O'Connell.
With a compressed two-day schedule, Corvette Racing will use its high-tech simulation and analysis programs to prepare for the Grand Prix of Long Beach. And with the third of three consecutive street races coming up in Houston, Texas, on April 21, having a clean and quick race on the streets of Long Beach is a top priority for Corvette Racing. The ALMS race at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, the third round of the 12-race 2007 American Le Mans Series, is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. local time) on Saturday, April 14. The one-hour, 40-minute race will be televised in a same-day broadcast on SPEED from 8 to 10:30 p.m. ET. For the complete release read more at: www.corvetteracing.com
