Corvette Racing Aims for 51st Win at Historic Road America

Corvette Racing reached a milestone with its 50th victory in the Portland Grand Prix on July 22. Since the team's debut in February 1999, Corvette Racing has competed in 73 events, winning 68 percent of its races. Three of those victories were notched at Road America, the site of this weekend's Generac 500.

The historic road course in Elkhart Lake, Wis., is a favorite of Corvette Racing's drivers and crew. Ask Corvette Racing driver Ron Fellows for his thoughts on the 4.0-mile circuit and you'll get an immediate answer: "I absolutely love the place!"

"It's great fun to drive," Fellows explained. "It's got long straights and slow corners that lead to faster corners. When your car is working well, it is an absolute treat to drive there. We'll hit more than 170 mph in the Corvette C6.R, the fastest top speed that we see on any race track in North America. The kink on the back straight is the most exciting corner on Earth." eBay MissionFish Sale Listings Can Benefit the NCM

We have signed on with eBay’s MissionFish organization as a non-profit foundation eligible to receive a portion of sales through eBay Giving Works listings.

Each time an eBay seller lists an item for sale, they can choose to donate a percentage of their sale to a non-profit foundation through the MissionFish pop-up window. The process is easy, and the seller only needs to register through MissionFish once to begin donating a select portion of the proceeds from each item sold. The item for sale will appear with an eBay Giving Works icon along with the percentage being donated to the non-profit of their choice. The seller gets a tax deductible donation for the amount that goes to the charity. Some sellers report 20-40% higher sale prices when they sell with eBay Giving Works. We are excited about this opportunity and encourage you to consider the Museum when using eBay to sell your items. Find out more about this special service by clicking here: http://www.missionfish.org/ForSellers/forsellers.jsp

Corvette Makes the 2006 Strategic Winners / Total Quality Top Ten List

General Motors topped all other automakers in the number of vehicles receiving the highest score in their category, according to the 2006 Total Quality Index (TQI) Awards from automotive consulting firm Strategic Vision.

A number of vehicles were repeat winners in 2006, including Corvette. Corvette topped the list in the small specialty vehicle over $25,000 category and in the convertible over $30,000 category. The Total Quality Index was calculated based on responses from more than 29,000 buyers who bought 2006 models in October and November of 2005. Each year buyers are asked to rate all aspects of the ownership experience, from buying and owning to driving. Small Corvette Store Fire Contained Quickly

Last week, a small early morning fire began in the Corvette Store due to an electrical malfunction in a clock.

Museum personnel quickly extinguished the fire, and the Museum opened at regular business hours. The Corvette Store had minimal damage and a professional cleaning service has cleaned out air-ducts and some areas of the store and lobby ceiling. We appreciate the concern and thoughts of everyone who checked in after hearing the news. Our team is to be commended for the quick response and effort in keeping this mishap to a minimum.
