"Chevrolet races to win in every series, so it's a great day when Chevy wraps up its fifth consecutive ALMS manufacturers championship," said Corvette Racing program manager Doug Fehan. "There was some intense, exciting racing on the track. If the race had gone one more lap, the outcome might have been different." Congratulations to the Corvette Race Team! Corvette Honored At Commemorative Stamp Ceremony
Postal Service representatives from across the state were also in attendance to unveil the Corvette Stamp, one of five issued in the new America on the Move – “Sporty Cars of the 50’s” collection set. Corvette Assembly Plant Manager, Wil Cooksey and NCM Executive Director, Wendell Strode were part of the morning’s festivities and shared their comments on the importance of Corvette to the community. “Our Corvette has a lot of horse-power under the hood,” Cooksey stated. “We represent Kentucky well!” This commemorative set of collector stamps is available through the postal service. “Commemorative stamp collections keep the US connected,” stated Ann Wright, USPS Kentucky District Manager. As part of the ceremony, a special cachet was created featuring the Corvette stamp and commemorative postmark. The Corvette Store has less than 100 of these commemorative cachet envelopes left.
