Reserve a Corporate Table for Your Corvette Club

As part of our annual Corvette Celebration, we are proud to host the exclusive 2005 Corvette Hall of Fame Induction ceremony and banquet on Friday, September 2. Thursday, August 11 is the deadline for your Corvette club or business to reserve a corporate table and be listed in the commemorative Hall of Fame program.

Corporate tables receive “priority seating” for ten and 2005 commemorative Hall of Fame glasses. We currently have 27 corporate tables reserved by various Corvette Clubs and businesses. This year’s prestigious ceremony recognizes the following inductees:

    • Chip Miller - Recognized for his pivotal role in the Corvette hobby. He was the founder of Corvettes at Carlisle, one of the largest annual Corvette shows, and a noted collector and restorer.
    • Randy Wittine - Recognized for his work as part of Team Corvette, and his design expertise seen in four of the six Corvette generations, especially in the integration of aerodynamic principles. He has also penned or modified the shape of many Corvette race cars .
    • Don Yenko - Recognized as a legendary race car driver who raced Corvettes at Daytona, Sebring and LeMans and was part of the first commercially sponsored Corvette race team. He also worked to campaign the new car in SCCA events, dominating the B Production class in the 1950s.

Reserve your spot at this year’s Corvette Hall of Fame Ceremony and register for the 11 th Anniversary Corvette Celebration by visiting our website at: http://www.corvettemuseum.com/registration/celebration/agend a.shtml or by calling (800) 53-VETTE. All pre-registered event participants receive a commemorative dash plaque and lapel pin along with a custom event badge – event pre-registration ends Wednesday, August 17.

Projects to Improve During Plant Shutdown

Many improvements were made to the Corvette Plant during their shutdown. Construction crews, contract employees, and engineers were hard at work updating some of the equipment and machinery in the plant.

The biggest project that was completed was ELPO (Electro Deposition). This is the new system that replaced the old dip prime for the frame of the cars. Construction on ELPO began at the end of January and is already complete. Prior to downtime, 16 validation builds were run through ELPO to make sure everything was working properly. Over shutdown the old dip prime was demolished and taken out, and conveyors were rerouted and permanently tied into ELPO. Now, 100 percent of the jobs are run through the new system. Many more projects were completed in paint and will help improve the overall quality of the paint jobs.
