Chevrolet's Special '427 Limited Edition Z06 Salutes the Classic 427

Chevrolet announced the 2008 Corvette 427 Limited Edition Z06, a limited-production model that pays homage to the big-block Stingray models of the mid-1960s. The 427 Limited Edition Z06 features a Crystal Red tint coat exterior, the first Z06 ever offered with red metallic tint coat paint. It also features graphics on the hood and fascia that evoke the style of the famed “stinger” hood design and graphics that were offered with 1967 models equipped with the 427 engine. Also unique to this model are “427” hood badges. Each example is numbered and signed by Wil Cooksey, the Corvette assembly plant manager who is retiring after 15 years on the job, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

Available under order code Z44, this special Z06 enters production this spring. Only 427 will be offered in the United States and Canada, with 78 more exported outside North America. That’s a total of 505 production vehicles – the same number of horsepower produced by the LS7 engine.

The special-edition Corvette carries a MSRP of $84,195 and includes the 3LZ premium equipment package with a custom, leather-wrapped interior. A navigation system is the only option ($1,750). As with other Corvette models, customer delivery is available at the Corvette Museum.

Hard Work and Dreams

Greg Scott is an employee that goes above and beyond what is expected of him and when his boss and teammates planned a visit to the Museum for the day, he figured it was just another road trip for the gang.

Much to Greg’s surprise, his boss Tim Searfoss, owner of Searfoss Developments in West Branch, MI, had something much more in store. “I regularly reward employees for doing a great job and Greg is the perfect example of someone who goes above and beyond – so I wanted to reward him with his dream,” Tim shared with us. “Sometimes I reward employees with new homes, or trips. It has been a life-long dream of Greg’s to own a new Corvette and he truly deserves it.” Greg, sporting his Corvette cap, was overwhelmed, surprised and touched. He was a man of few words – just smiles and tears.

More Road Tour Excursions Added to the Bash Event Lineup

The Bash continues to be one of the most popular NCM events each year and our scenic road tour excursions fill quickly – so we have added two additional road tours to the event lineup!

Saturday’s agenda now features your choice of a road tour to Maker’s Mark Distillery along with lunch at the Whistle Stop Café or a wine and cheese tour for samplings of the finest wines and cheeses around and lunch at Tennessee’s “5 Chefs”. Fewer than 50 total spots are left on these excursions. If you have already pre-registered for the Bash and want to add one of these tours to your event activities, just log in and add the additional road tour. Still deciding if you want to join us? Don’t miss out on one of the most exciting events of the season filled with activities found nowhere else – April 24-26!
