Club and Museum Buy One Acre
For years, the Corvettes of Charlotte County (a club based in Punta Gorda, FL) have held their meetings and shows at Rick Treworgy's Muscle Car City Museum. After discussing the One Acre campaign for many months, a member suggested the club go for it and they brought it to a vote - unanimously deciding to support the Motorsports Park Project by committing to a half acre.
Many members of the club volunteer at Rick's museum, and in speaking with him about their recent commitment to NCM, Rick decided he'd go in with them, bringing the commitment to a full acre.
Rick has been collecting cars for 40 years, purchasing an empty former Wal-Mart building and converting it into a Museum which now houses 220 cars. He has displayed a car at NCM, and holds many car shows, raising funds for charity. In fact, the club is having a show there this Sunday, February 26.
Thanks to the club and Rick for their support! Learn more about our Motorsports Park project here. |

Race Ramps Partners with NCM
Race Ramps has partnered with the Museum to provide two sets of Portable Pit Stop (PPS) ramps to be used for displays in the museum, lifts at our HPD events and for demos during our basic mechanics classes. The Portable Pit Stops allow a car to be driven up and placed on raised platforms with bridge sections between the wheels able to be removed leaving the car sitting on four corner blocks.
“For educational purposes, we will be able to place a lighted display mirror under the vehicle to provide a much better view of what’s going on under the car,” said Roc Linkov, Events Manager. “This will be a great asset not only for displays, but also for working on cars at our High Performance Driving Schools.” In addition to the two PPS, Race Ramps has supplied a trailer side kick, the show mirror and two sets of Trailer Mates Fronts & Rears.

Fund a Field Trip Program Offered
With budget cuts and school funding shortages, many students do not get the opportunity to take field trips to nearby attractions and sites. We have been soliciting area businesses and individuals to help bring the fun of field trips to students who may not otherwise get to participate with a $300 sponsorship. The sponsorship not only covers admission for a group of 30 students, but also covers up to $150 in fuel/travel expenses which we pay to the school!
We would like to thank the following businesses for helping fund field trips! - Bada Hennessy Industries - BKD, LLP - Campbell Chevrolet - Citizens First - Warren RECC - Wendy's of Bowling Green
If you, your business or club are interested in funding a field trip, please reply to this email and ask Katie for a signup form! |
