Motorsports Park Track Operations Manager Named

Matt Busby has been selected as Track Operations Manager for the NCM Motorsports Park. Busby will be managing the track schedule and rentals, administering High Performance Driver's Education Programs, managing daily track activities and assisting with track operations.

Previously, Busby was employed at NOLA Motorsports Park in New Orleans. "I'm incredibly excited to be a part of such an extraordinary project with the Museum!" said Busby. "It's not every day that these kinds of opportunities arise, and I feel blessed to be a part of it all."

Read more about Busby on the NCM Motorsports Park website here.

Tire Rack Street Survival School Slated for April

The primary emphasis of the Tire Rack Street Survival is a "hands-on" driving experience for teens in real-world situations! We use your own car to teach you about its handling limits and how you can control them. The students will become more observant of the traffic situation they find themselves in. They will learn to look far enough ahead to anticipate unwise actions of other drivers. As the students master the application of physics to drive their cars, they will make fewer unwise driving actions themselves. They will understand why they should always wear their own seatbelts, and why they should insist that their passengers wear seatbelts, too.

The Museum will be hosting a school on Saturday, April 12 from 8:30am-4:30pm. The fee is $75.

More information and registration is available online here.

It's about more than driving - it's about LIVING!

Updated from Construction Manager on Sinkhole

Our Construction Manager, Mike Murphy, has provided an in-depth update as to the progress being made in the Skydome - a project they have named "Operation Corvette Plus."

We’ve named the project this because for something to raise from a base level ‘up’ equals moving in a ‘+’ direction. Our ultimate goal is to keep the existing building ‘up’ in its original position, raise the Corvettes in the hole ‘up’, then bring the fill in the hole ‘up’ and lastly, bring the concrete floor back ‘up’ to its original level.

We are very appreciative of the National Corvette Museum, Chubb Insurance and VanMeter Insurance Group to allow us to assemble the best group of professionals to effectively and accurately ‘heal this horrendous hole’ in the Skydome. Our reputation both in business and personally, obligates us to hold the best interest of our community partner in mind 24/7 until the project is completed.

Read the full article on our blog online here.

Watch a video of the crane coming into the Skydome, plus an interview with one of the civil engineers online here.
