Chevrolet today unveiled the 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible Collector Edition - the fastest, most capable convertible in Corvette's history - as well as a 60th Anniversary Package that will be available on all 2013 Corvette models.

"The 2013 model year will be historic for Corvette, marking its 60th Anniversary and the final year for the current 'C6' generation," said Chris Perry, vice president, Global Marketing and Strategy for Chevrolet.

The Corvette has a 427ci LS7 engine from the Z06, rated at 505hp. It is the most powerful engine ever installed in a production Corvette convertible and is only available with a six-speed manual transmission.

The 427 Convertible also features several carbon-fiber components that help reduce weight, including carbon fiber raised hood, Z06-style fenders, floor panels and optional front splitter and rocker panels.

On Saturday, January 21, 2012, around 4PM, EST, the first 427 Convertible in the 60th Anniversary Appearance Package will be offered for sale at the Barrett-Jackson collector car auction in Scottsdale, AZ with live nationwide coverage on SPEED TV. If you are planning to attend the auction, be sure to stop by our booth and say 'hi'!

All 2013 Corvettes models, including the 427 Convertible, will be available with a 60th Anniversary Package, featuring an Arctic White exterior with a Blue Diamond leather-wrapped interior with suede accents. Convertible models will have a blue top.

Additional content includes a ZR1-style rear spoiler, special badging, gray-painted brake calipers and the "60th" logo on the wheel center caps, steering wheel and seat headrests. An optional graphics package adds full-length racing stripes in Pearl Silver Blue, including a tonal stripe stitched into the convertible top, extending the graphic theme over the roof.

For 2013, all Corvettes will feature special 60th Anniversary cross-flag badges on the front fascia and the interior "waterfall" panel on the convertible model, as well as 60th logo in the instrument panel gauge cluster and on the sill plate.

Orders for 2013 Corvettes will begin in March.

If you are a fan of the Carlisle Blue exterior color or Centennial Edition Package, take note that production of those will end this winter. The last chance to order Carlisle Blue Corvettes is February 9-13 while Centennial Edition Package orders will wrap up March 1-6. Tentatively, the last chance to order 2012 Corvettes will be March 15-19.

When it comes to helping out the Corvette Museum, Circle City Corvettes of Dothan, AL are no strangers! After paying off their first acre commitment for the Motorsports Park project, the club decided to commit to not one, but TWO additional acres!

"When the NCM's One Acre program started, the CCC members were quite enthusiastic in supporting the park," said Ambassador Charley Robertson. "Our first acre was paid off in 2011 with more monies going to a second acre. During a Fall club meeting, a unanimous vote was taken to add on a third acre!"

For the past 32 years the club has hosted a fundraising event, and in 1998 after attending the NCM's Bash, Jim and Charley Robertson decided they wanted to get more active with the Museum and create an auction at their club's annual Beach Caravan. Over the years the auction has raised over $90,000 for the NCM, offering lots of cool autographed items up for bid.
