Corvette Named in Vincentric’s "2007 Best Value in America” Awards
Corvette was recognized in two categories as part of Vincentric’s 2007 Best Value in America Awards.
Vincentric measures cost-of-ownership using eight different cost factors: depreciation, fuel, insurance, opportunity cost, financing, maintenance, taxes and state fees, and repairs. Using a statistical model, the company identified the Best Value in America by measuring which vehicles have a lower than expected ownership cost given their market segment and price. The categories and the winners of Vincentric’s Best Value in America for the 2007 model year, along with a synopsis showing detailed ownership costs for each winner is available at: http://www.vincentric.com/press_releases/press_releases_2006_02_28.asp
Corvette Magazine Coverage
Your favorite Corvette Magazines have some exciting features in their new issues that you don’t want to miss. Here are samplings of the hottest newsstand features coming from some of our media friends:
- Corvette Magazine - Corvette Magazine's March 2007 issue recently hit newsstands, and features a Colorado dealer's own creation that looks an awful lot like a Z06 convertible. Purists say the Z06 is built with a fixed roof because a convertible top would dilute its performance. They put the Z06 up against BMW's flagship, the M6 and it turns out that there's more to compare than a time slip after a quick run down the dragstrip. The Gordon Keeble was one of the first Anglo-Italian-American supercars to use off-the-shelf Corvette power. In the eighties, the Corvette Indy concept car took Corvette styling in a new direction. They also take a look at the high tech Wixom Engine Factory, where Corvette LS7 powerplants are made by loving hands instead of cold robotic arms. www.corvette-mag.com
- Corvette Enthusiast Magazine – The May issue has exciting coverage of our HPDE from Carolina Motorsports with one of GM’s 2007 Z06 Corvettes. You can also read about a power steering rebuild story on a ’77 Corvette and a story on oil analysis and how it can prolong the life of your Corvette’s engine, no matter what age it is. Find out how to replace some worn bearings on a midyear Corvette with disc brakes and continuation of the Shark painting on a budget series as well as features on several Corvettes including an original ’67, 435hp convertible that is modified and running a C4 chassis. www.corvetteenthusiast.com
- Corvette Fever – The March issue of Corvette Fever - on newsstands now contains a cover story on the amazing 1996 Lingenfelter 383-equipped Grand Sport, a 59 roadster “Rhapsody in Blue” and a 10-second nitrous-fed ZR-1 monster. You will also find technical tips on a powerful fix for your C4 windows, and how to install a new convertible top on your C4. www.corvettefever.com
- Vette Magazine – The March issue, available now features an exciting cover story on a 1962 Aussie C1 that set a benchmark for high-end customizations, and a great feature on a 1998 Corvette Coupe testament to the nature of customization. You can also find a special on Part 2: 1963-1967 – Corvette Badge Spotters Guide. www.vetteweb.com
- Corvette Quarterly - Here’s what’s new in CQ Spring 2007 issue -three days on the road with bluesman Kenny Wayne Shepard driving a Corvette convertible through the birthplace of the blues — the Mississippi Delta. Inside features also include a section on the CQ Z06 drive against some classic sports cars in the Texas 1000 rally in West Texas — including spectacular Big Bend Park and the Petroleum Museum in Midland, home of Jim Hall’s collection of Chaparral road racers. The Mako Shark I - beautifully photographed in the studio with a story by Phil Patton on its genesis and a LS7 full technical breakdown on what makes this engine sing. www.cqmag.com
