Wednesday, the National Corvette Museum was honored to be one of the stops for Rally North Americas Rally Dixie 2012. This 80-car, three-day Rally brought muscle cars, sports cars, exotic cars and other unique cars together for some great fun and to raise awareness for the Accelerated Cure Project for Multiple Sclerosis.
For Zac and Cheryl Cannon this Rally is important on many levels. Zac has a sister disease to MS called Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease which is characterized by the progressive loss of muscle tissue and touch sensation across various parts of the body. I cant do sports anymore, Zak says, so my car is my life now and this rally is a great way to have fun and raise money for a good cause.
Im his co-driver, but its all about him and getting to see him enjoy stuff. He was a very strong baseball player and golfer before MS took that away, so its very cool to get to see him do something that he can really enjoy.
