Corvette's newest addition

1,000th Museum Delivery for 2006 Model Year

Brad and Dianna Best from Edmond, Oklahoma picked up a beautiful Monterey Red Corvette Convertible yesterday as part of the R8C Museum Delivery program.

The Best’s also received another surprise – they were our 1,000th delivery of the 2006 model year! “We are so surprised that we are the 1,000th delivery for the model year,” stated our excited delivery participants. “We came to take delivery of our Corvette and this just adds to the experience.” You can find out more about the one-of-a-kind Museum Delivery program experience by visiting our website at: http://www.corvettemuseum.com/ncm_delivery/index.shtml or call us at: (800) 205-4248.

Corvette Racing Aims for GT1 Victory Record at Lime Rock

Just days ago, Corvette Racing's twin Corvette C6.R race cars were thundering through the French countryside on the immense 8.5-mile Le Mans circuit.

On July 1, they'll be racing on Lime Rock Park's roller coaster 1.54-mile track nestled in Connecticut's Litchfield Hills. The transition from the longest track on the schedule to the shortest requires not only a change of equipment but also a change of attitude. "Going from Le Mans to Lime Rock is like going from a super speedway to a bullring," said Ron Fellows, who will share the No. 3 Compuware Corvette C6.R with Johnny O'Connell. "It's a cool track, and I have always enjoyed racing at Lime Rock." It takes more than a change of decals to prepare the Corvettes for the Lime Rock round. Both cars must be completely refreshed and rebuilt after racing twice around the clock in the world's greatest - and most grueling - sports car race. The two-hour, 45-minute New England Grand Prix, the fourth round of the 10-race 2006 American Le Mans Series, is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. EDT on Saturday, July 1. The race will be televised tape-delayed on CBS Sports on Sunday, July 2, starting at 4 p.m. EDT. For the complete release visit: www.corvetteracing.com

Reserve Your Hall of Fame Corporate Table Before August 1

August 1 is the deadline to reserve a table for your club, business or group at the upcoming Hall of Fame Induction Banquet, on Friday, September 1.

The ninth annual Hall of Fame will feature the induction of retired Corvette Chief Engineer, David Hill, Corvette performance engineer and racer, John Lingenfelter and one of the founding members of the National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS), Gary Mortimer to the elite group of individuals recognized for their contribution to the Corvette. Corporate table sponsors receive reserved seating and recognition in the Hall of Fame program. Tables seat 10 people and are available at $650 each. The deadline to reserve a corporate table is Tuesday, August 1. We hope you can join us in honoring these remarkable Corvette history makers. Supporter Plans for the Future

NCM Member Jack Cunningham still has many years to enjoy his Corvette, but has already made plans to have his Corvette taken care of long after he is gone.

Jack has named the Museum in his will as the recipient of his 1990 ZR-1 upon his passing. “I love my Corvette, and I want the Museum to have it to share with others,” Jack told us. “I couldn’t imagine a better place to leave something that I care for so much.” We appreciate the generosity of the many Corvette enthusiasts who have made arrangements to make the Museum a recipient of their Corvette and memorabilia in their long-term planning. If you would like to find out more about how you can name the Museum as a recipient of your Corvette assets, contact Frank Ragukonis, NCM Development Manager at: frank@corvettemuseum.com or (800) 53-VETTE.
