Bloomington Gold Just Weeks Away
Bloomington Gold® Corvettes USA is only weeks away. It’s the longest running continuous Corvette show since 1973 and will take place June 24-27 at Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles, Illinois.
Bloomington Gold's judging system – Gold Certification®, SURVIVOR® and BENCHMARK® - is the measurement by which collectors, auctions, magazines and parts manufacturers compare all other Corvettes. In addition to judging, Bloomington Gold offers educational seminars, auction and other Corvettes for sale, vendors and swap meet. New for 2010 is The Great Hall which will celebrate 10 people and 10 cars that have helped shape the Corvette phenomenon. Also 75 of the best historically preserved originals of all make and model cars will be judged for the 3rd Annual SURVIVOR collector Car event.
The Corvette Museum will have a booth in the Lobby of the MegaCenter, space L11 and representing us are NCM Board Members Ivan Schrodt and Abbie Miller. Stop by to check out the great Corvette merchandise, raffle tickets or just to say hello! |

High School Students Build Corvette Inspired Car
Members of the Valley Vettes Corvette Club shared with us a recent project by Brillion (Wisconsin) High School students. The students built a Corvette inspired car from scratch using cardboard, foam and fiberglass. The car can reach speeds of 60 MPH and has Corvette-like features, including the 4 tail lights and a Jake emblem on the hood.
The students started with a model of a C6 and a device that scans a 3-D object into a computer, then scaled it to the required size including some changes required by the contest. The computer provided templates that they transferred to cardboard, filled with the foam and carved a body on that.
Members of the Valley Vettes Corvette Club joined the students on May 20 for an impromptu car show at the school. Check out more photos of this project in our Picasa Album.

This week's question was: What celebrity put their 2009 ZR1 on eBay this past week?
Congratulations to Brent Seaux of Lafayette, LA. He correctly identified Tim Allen as auctioning his ride. The car went for $95,500 Tuesday night! Brent scored a Corvette t-shirt and free passes to the Museum!
